This home has expanded and opened a second orphanage in the same area. I visited the first home and observed a well-run orphanage with excellent leadership. The main daily necessity is food for the two orphanages in which each orphanage has 10-15 children. The children attend school. The major expense is milk, which most of the orphanages only get once a week. I also plan to purchase playground equipment for them.

We have assisted this orphanage with thousands of dollars of vitamins and supplements.

Tax deductible receipts are issued for your donations towards these needs.

Agape Children’s Home is run by Mr. and Mrs. Sang and is filled with laughter and happiness. Located in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, the surroundings are filled with many desperate needs but there is a ray of hope in the Agape Home – this home is changing the slums into an “Oasis in the desert”.

The mentality of this home is outreach. They not only care for the orphans but they feed the hungry, give gifts to the less fortunate and share with the homeless.

This home is a “light on the hill” and they reach and touch many more children than they can accomodate in their home.

Evelyn and Thu

…an eight year old girl from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Thu’s father was sent to prison for 20 years for drug trafficking and Thu’s mother could not provide for the children, so she took them to the market to find someone who would be interested in taking the three children.

Sang’s wife (Sang is the director of the Agape House Orphanage) was at the market and Thu’s mother approached her. At this time, Agape House was not prepared to receive these malnourished children as many children in this condition are suffering from Aids, and this could be dangerous to bring children who are infected into a home where there are more children.

The next morning, somehow, this lady with her three children showed up at the door of the Agape House. After a very difficult decision, Sang and his wife decided to take the children in. The next day, they took the three children to the hospital and had them tested. The children did not have Aids but the hospital confirmed that the children were very malnourished.

The following day, the mother of the three children, came to sign the legal papers to give the children to the Agape House.

The Story Behind Thu
Thu’s father would use Thu to hid the drugs in her dress pocket, and she would sit in the alleys and wait for the drug connection to come. Thu would sit there all day and night so after the drug addicts paid for the drugs (to Thu’s father) then they would come to Thu and pretend to talk to her, and get the drugs from her pocket.

Thu and her brothers Manh and Long, never attended school because they didn’t have birth certificates. Agape House has now taken full charge of these three children’s lives and is educating them and as you can see by this picture of Thu, she is now a thriving young lady who will have a great future because someone rescued her from a living hell.

This is just one of the stories of the many children, that we are privileged to connect with, in these countries. Your support goes towards making a new life for children like Thu. Anything you can do to change a child’s life, would be greatly appreciated.

This home is located in Cochin, India under the directorship of Jose Carmel. There is a tremendous need for daily food supply. At times this home can hardly give the children one meal per day. The director helps widows to learn tailoring so they can support their children. Many mothers give their children to the orphanage because they have no training and education on how to get employment and properly feed and care for their children. In this impoverished nation, we want to see proper education for the children of Grace home, along with nutritious meals.

For $100 per sewing machine, we have sponsored 28 widows to take tailoring school and start a career so they can support their children.

This orphanage for blind children is located on the outskirts of Beijing and was established by Guillaume and Delphine Gauvain from France.

It is an amazing story of courage, as this young couple came to China to establish this orphanage for blind children. Situated on 17 acres with a brick wall surrounding the property, this home was established to bring hope and security to children who live in a “dark” world.

This is the largest blind orphanage in China, with 58 children. With 12 million visually impaired people in China, the need is astronomical. The children are fluent in three languages (Chinese, English, and French). The property includes a home for animals plus gardens and fruit trees which help make this a self-sustainable home. The orphanage can expand up to 80 children but they are in need of financial assistance in order to expand. They have small homes where the children sleep and are cared for during the night, and then in the morning they come to the classroom where they are taught and receive therapy.

Some of the children have physical challenges besides blindness. They have a vision to start an orphanage and a clinic in every province of China.

This is a wonderful place full of fun and laughter. We were so happy to see children interacting and enjoying life.

We would like to assist this home with some operational expenses and assistance towards a medical clinic. In May 2012 we took a team to volunteer at this home. It was a memorable trip for all.

This children’s home is located in Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand under the directorship of David and Terry Wharf. This home has been functioning for many years and as the children grow up, they have advanced on to college or other professional training and have become a great asset to their country.

We have assisted this home with a number of projects including playground equipment, picnic tables, a stainless steel stove, deep freeze, air conditioner, microwave, washing machine, as well as a scooter for the directors, which provides very reasonable transportation for short errands.

The children range in age from 6 to 18 years. They presently are in need of sponsorship for seven children. Schooling costs in Thailand have doubled. This home wants to provide the best of education for the children so they can continue on with post-secondary education. The children presently get one glass of milk per week, and we would like to increase the supply of milk to this home. The children also need dental care due to the lack of calcium. There is a need for dental surgery as well.

This orphanage is located in Sanya, Hinan Island, and established under the directorship of Maggie Davis.

This home provides amazing assistance to physically and mentally challenged children of all ages. We have been able to help this orphanage with beds and linens. Recently this home has doubled in size, expanding assistance to the children with physio therapy and exercising equipment. The children require 24-hour care and this requires a tremendous amount of staffing.

We have visited this home a number of times and it is amazing to see how the children advance under the loving and caring atmosphere that they are nurtured in. Each child has individual attention and the attention provides great rehabilitation to their needs.
